The final weekend in June provided another amazing weekend of swimming from swimmers at Norton Radstock SC. There was an abundance of medals, fantastic Personal Best times and three new club records set as eight swimmers competed at the Clevedon and Chard Meet, held at Hutton Moor pool in Weston-super-Mare.
Saturday saw Elliot Lewis winning Gold in the 15/o boys 50m Free and Olivia Iles winning Silver in the 9 yrs girls 50m Backstroke. There were also several top eight finishes for our swimmers.
Sunday produced some terrific performances, with swimmers taking several seconds off their previous personal best times.
Georgia Vause won Gold in the 15/o girls 100m Breaststroke, Silver in the 50m Breast and 50m Freestyle, and Bronze in the 100m Backstroke and 400m Freestyle.
Daniel Crocker won a Bronze in the 15/o boys 400m Freestyle, also setting a new club record.
Alice Wells won Silver in the 14yrs girls 400m Freestyle and Bronze in the 100m Breaststroke.
Elliot Lewis finished a very close second winning Silver in the 15/o boys 50m Butterfly, where he also set a new club record.
Olivia Iles won Gold in the 9 yrs girls 50m Freestyle, beating her closest challenger by two seconds.
Eleanor Pillinger put in some sterling performances setting many new personal best times and also setting a new club record in the 11yrs girls 100m Backstroke.
Ella Flagg and Louise Weston also set new personal best times with several top eight finishes in their events.
Swimmers training on Wednesday were also lucky to have former Norton Radstock and Olympic swimmer, Stadd Bromley (nee Tadd) coaching them, with a master class training session on Breaststroke.
Stacey also presented Leah Lovell with her Club Record certificate for the Girls 10yrs 25m Backstroke, the record previously held by Stacey, at the Cotswold League final at the end of May.
