Timsbury CC 3rd XI 185-6 vs Midsomer Norton CC 3rd XI 181-8
Timsbury’s third eleven regained second place in the table with a four wicket victory over Midsomer Norton at the school ground.
After the early wicket of Graeme King, caught and bowled by Darren Gould, Robin Cray and Richard Jordan built a strong partnership before Jordan was well caught by Ed Belson in the deep off the bowling of Ashley Davis for 47. Cray passed his half century before dragging on, also to Davis for 61.
Lee Hulbert was rewarded for his threatening spell with 3-23, and there was also a wicket apiece for Belson and Harry Humphries as Norton closed on 181-8.
Timsbury’s reply got off to a quick start, as Hulbert and Will Jeffery mixed power with placement to get ahead of the required rate. When Hulbert fell for 19 to Sebastian Gianella, Matthew Ball continued where he had left off with a brisk 24. Jeffery continued to build his innings but fell for 36, caught by Gianella off Richard Jordan.
Jordan added two more wickets, and there was one apiece for Paul Justin and Nathan Bowen-Jones, but the home side were seen to victory by Gould, who hit 8 fours and 3 sixes in an innings of 55 not out.
