Fielding first, Killy were inspired by an exceptional bowling performance from veteran club legend, Harry Humphries, who took 5–21 with his wily spinners, well-backed up by fellow club veterans, Mark Batchelar and Stephen Jackson, who both took two wickets as the hosts were dismissed for 146.
Killy battled hard in reply. Alex Gardiner, one of the younger breed, top-scored with 34, and was well backed-up by Batchelar (21) and Jackson, (13), both again turning in good all-round performances as Killy were bowled out for 119, just 27 runs short of their target. A local derby at home to Chilcompton Sports is next up for Killy (2 p.m. start) as they look to return to winning ways.
