HARPTREE VILLAGE 162 all-out KILMERSDON 117 all-out
Killy’s unbeaten start to the season came to an end, but given the low number of availabilities for various reasons, the team once again without doubt performed with great credit.
Batting first, the home side were bowled out for 162, Steve Thomas with 87 being the most prolific run scorer. Killy skipper, Mark Batchelar, once again excelled, leading by example taking 5-26, and also being responsible for two run-outs, one being Thomas just thirteen short of his century.
Leon Rigby (on his return to the club), Ben Curtis and newcomer, Glenn Lodder, also picked up a wicket apiece. Killy battled hard in reply, with Mark Batchelar (23), Keinan Cooper (18), Glenn Lodder (16), Alex Lane (15) and Ben Curtis (10) all getting starts, bowled out for 117 – beaten, but far from disgraced – by 45 runs.
Next up is another away trip to Bitton with a 1.30 p.m. start, when the team will no doubt be determined to get back to winning ways.
