KILMERSDON 241-5 BLAGDON 345 all-out
On winning the toss and electing to bat first, the visitors accumulated a massive total of 345 in their forty overs.
Leading the way with a second-wicket stand of 210 were Bevan Wade (145) and Harry Sparkes (86), but the Killy bowlers stuck to the task well – Ben Curtis taking 4-67, Ashley Davis 3-40, Charlotte Hazell 2-54 and Josh Tucker 1-30. Gemma Batchelar excelled in the field with two catches, there was a stumping for wicketkeeper, Evi Griffiths, and also a catch each for Darren Davis and Callum Starr as Killy stuck to their task remarkably well.
After an early loss, Killy dug in to post a respectable total of 241-5 in reply – skipper, Mark Batchelar, completing a second ton of the season with a magnificent 101 not-out, well-supported by Evi Griffiths (68), and together they shared a century stand for the fourth wicket. Josh Tucker also weighed in with 21 as Killy fell 104 runs short of their target, putting up a great fight after a long haul in the field earlier. Next up is an away trip to Barrow Gurney this coming Sunday (7th July) with a 1.30 p.m. start.
