On a very wet, drizzly Sunday morning, it was a toss-up whether any play would take place at Withies Lane. All teams were keen to play as these matches had been rescheduled from earlier in the season.

The first match saw the Mavericks take on Wembdon for the first time this season in very wet conditions. As the match progressed, things started to improve slightly, which was encouraging for the rest of the day’s play. A good team performance, with everyone contributing, resulted in a twenty-run win over Wembdon. The final score was MSN Mavericks 278 against Wembdon’s 258. Later in the afternoon, and with some improvement in the conditions, the Mavericks came head-to-head with Frome, another first encounter for the season.

Once again though, the Mavericks pulled together and secured a win.

MSN Mavericks 257 to Frome’s 233 helped maintain the home side’s unbeaten record for the season and put them at the top of Somerset Division One.
