MIDSOMER Norton’s hopes of ending the year with a rugby victory in Counties One Western North were dashed when they slumped 58-14 away to Old Bristolians.
It was their fifth loss of the season and they slipped back to fourth in the table, only two points ahead of Old Bristolians.
Nailsea & Backwell maintained their 100 per cent record at the top of the table after the beat Bridgwater & Albion 57-26 away to record their 11th straight win.
Meanwhile, Midsomer Norton will be looking to bounce back when they play at home to Chosen Hill Former Pupils on Saturday, January 10. Chosen HFP have lost nine of their ten fixtures and are bottom of the table.
Top match of the day is the clash between Nailsea & Backwell and third-placed Clifton.
