Temple visited Winscombe with an under-strength side, but came away with a victory in a low-scoring game dominated by the ball.
They won the toss and batted first, but struggled against the home opening attack of Bradley and Sowati. Opener, Miles Hackett, played in his normal aggressive style for 27 but the other high order batsmen struggled, and at 59–6, were in deep trouble.
Stand-in Skipper, Courtney Forrest (32), was joined by Rob Head (18) and the pair put on an invaluable 55 run stand. With the tail falling cheaply, a final score of 130 looked well below par, with Bradley 5–31 and Sowati 3–35 the chief wicket-takers.
Winscombe put on 41 for the first wicket against the pace attack of Simon Mahoney and Simon Curtis. A change of bowlers then brought a change of fortune with Winscombe slumping to 78–7. Rob Head was the star of the show, ably backed up by Miles Hackett, 2–19.
Whilst the tail wagged briefly, the spin of Dan Raisbeck 1–9 off six overs and Henry Widdington’s first ball dismissal of Steve Andrew saw Temple home.
Temple’s final home league game against promotion-chasing Wellington is on Saturday.
