After a difficult four hour journey, Paulton faced a powerful Hampton side who convincingly beat Rovers to march into the Emirates FA Cup.

Brave defending saw ‘The Beaver’s’ Jake Gray hit the side netting and keeper Aaron Sainsbury twice saved from tricky right winger Stefan Ilec.

The home side lead by the ungamely lanky Temi Babalona who fluffed several chances before somehow he set up Ilec i the thirtieth minute to give the hosts the lead.

Rovers responded with a series of attacks down both flanks by Will Harvey and Martin Lenihan and on 37 minutes a move involving those two Dan Dempsey, Byrne and Tooze nearly led to the equaliser.

Six minutes later and Ilec once against crossed and Babalona spectacularly scored with an audacious over head bicycle kick to make it 2-0.

On the stroke of half time, Paulton pulled a goal back as Lenihan sent Tooze on a run and he was upended by an unnecessary challenge by Hampton’s Brazilian QPR loaned keeper Mattel Saleman. Tooze thumped in resultant penalty to reduce the deficit.

Paulton made changes bringing on Ed Butcher and Leo Eglin and pressed as Nuno Felix found Tooze whose cross flicked off Harvey’s head.

It was 4-1 on 69 minutes as another long ball saw Wood drive on to round Sainsbury and roll the ball into the net.

Rovers 30 plus supporters in the 461 crowd were impressed that their side kept playing football. It was 5-1 on 77 minutes as sub Ade Shokundi drove acoss the penalty area and drove low past Sainsbury.

In the final minute, Eglin tripped Gray in the box and Tommy Block thundered home the result spot kick.
