The most important drive of Captain Paul Thomas' season took place on the ninth tee on Saturday, 11th April.

He was raising money for the Joint Captains Charity, Cancer Research UK. Over 100 golf members had each placed a marker in a position anywhere on the course where they thought Captain Paul's ball would finish. After a long practice session in the driving range, Paul was ready. He hit an excellent drive down the ninth fairway, with the ball finishing just in the semi-rough on the right-hand side.

The marker closest to Paul's ball belonged to Mike Bradbury. Mike won a bottle of red and a bottle of white wine for his fine judgement.

The Saturday Stableford was played on 4th April. With the white tees back in place, it meant that the full course was in operation.

In Division Two, some great scores were recorded. Graham Hancock took charge, with 42 points, beating Roger Farr on countback. John Burton was third, with 39.

The Sunday Stableford was played on 5th April. The weather improved on Easter Sunday and playing off the white tees did not seem so difficult. Farrington Park Ladies

Farrington Park Ladies are continuing their good form. Following on from the triumphant Fowler Brooches win of last week, the Mail on Sunday team entered the field on Wednesday, 1st April. Having knocked out Orchardleigh Ladies and St Pierre Ladies (near Chepstow) in earlier rounds in the Mail on Sunday, five Farrington Park Ladies faced five Henbury Ladies at home. Previous encounters have seen some tough competitions between the two golf clubs and Farrington Park Ladies remembering the defeat at Henbury two years ago, were well aware of the enormity of the task ahead. Henbury Golf Club have a strong Ladies section, with several Ladies that play for Gloucestershire County. Terri O'Shea, Maureen Charlton, Gail Proctor, Pauline Young and Jackie Walker, representing Farrington Park, focused on their game and were not deterred by the Henbury team with their small group of supporters who could be seen popping up around the course. The matches were keenly fought in windy conditions and it was becoming apparent that Henbury Ladies were a determined team, but so were the Farrington Park Ladies and they finished the day winning by a convincing margin of 4½–½. The Farrington Park Ladies can now look forward to a Fourth Round draw.

Only fifteen Ladies took part in the EWGA Medal on Ladies Thursday morning. The weather conditions again were poor with wind and rain. The winner of the Silver Division was Sue Stilwell, with a nett 77, second was Lin Papadopoulos, with a nett 82 points, and third was Aimee Sawyer, with a nett 85 points. The winner of the Bronze Division was Margaret Seery, with a nett 77, second was Min Woodward, with a nett 79 (on countback) and third was Gill Russell, also with a nett 79.

Ladies Thursday morning on 9th April was a glorious day, the clear blue skies and warm sunshine felt like the beginning of summer golfing. A massive 44 ladies took advantage of the elevating weather to compete in a Qualifying Stableford. The scoring reflected the much-improved conditions. Mandy Hobbs came out on top of the large field with an excellent forty points, giving her a handicap reduction. Also with handicap reductions were second-placed Jackie Walker, with 39 points, and third-placed Aimee Sawyer, with 38 points.

The first trophy competition of 2015 Mixed season started in blustery, cold conditions, ten couples played American Greensomes in the Parker Charity Shield.
