Paulton started pre season friendlies on Friday night with a sound win on the 3G pitch at Chipping Sodbury Sports Centre.

Manager John Rendell included several U18 players and trialists who all did well, in what was essentially blending together his squad new and old.

Ed Butcher and youngster Leo Eglin scored two apiece, with one from a trialist and the other from Kyle Tooze on his return to the club.

Paulton were home to a strong Bristol City side on Tuesday (5 July) and on Saturday away to Bridgwater Town kick off 3-00 pm then Wednesday, 13th July away again to Ashton & Backwell kick off 7 pm then home to Welsh League Division 1 side Goytre United (from Port Talbot) on Saturday 16 July kick off is the earlier time of 1 pm.

Paulton is already home to Rovers new signing Martin Lenihan.

He signs from Frome Town and has been a target by Paulton manager John Rendell for several years.

Martin (28) is a teacher and came through the youth team at Rovers.

He will save on fuel getting to the First4Pools Stadium at Winterfield Road as he lives five minutes walk from the ground.
