As far as I am aware this was the first playing of this format by Senior golfers on a Wednesday.

Also known as ‘alternate shot’, two players form a team and decide who will tee off on the odd numbered holes and which on the even numbered holes. They then play alternate shots throughout the playing of that hole. No pressure there then!

On paper there were some pretty useful pairings. However they failed to deliver –maybe that pressure did get to them!

The winning duo of Jamie Goudie and Andy Smart who, despite not scoring on the first hole, came in with 41 points. Runners-up were Mark ‘in the money again’ Howell and David Lewis with 40 points.

Results: First Jamie Goudie/Andy Smart 41 points, second Mark Howell/David Lewis 40 points, third Dave Brain/Barry Hall 39 points, fourth Alan Elkington/Dave Forshaw 39 points, fifth Brian Brown/Alan Fussell 37 points and sixth Colin Glibbery/Alan Taylor 36 points,

Next week is a Multiplier. Now that’s what you call proper pressure!
