For the first game of 2015, Norton's First Team welcomed the league leaders, Swanage and Wareham, to Norton Down, hoping to produce a much better performance than the 60–5 loss at the beginning of the season.
Playing down the slope, Norton started brightly and set up camp on the visitors' try line, but after a long period of pressure, they were unable to breach the visitors' well-organised defence. Swanage slowly got to grips with the elements, and started to gain possession of some good ball in the Norton half. Continued pressure enabled Swanage to win a penalty, but due to the strong wind, the kick went wide.
Following a kick to the corner, Swanage won the line-out and set up a driving maul from which they eventually scored, again, the kick went wide. In response, Norton scored when Ben Taylor slotted over a penalty kick for the home side's only score of the half.
Near the end of the first half, the home forwards were adjudged to have stopped Swanage's drive illegally and the referee awarded Swanage a penalty try, making the conversion easier. The half ended 3–10 in Swanage's favour.
The second half was a much more even affair, with Norton defending stoutly and the forwards carrying the ball strongly at their opposition. The weather then had another effect on the game, this time in the visitors' favour. The ball was fly-hacked on and bounced kindly for the chasing player, who was able to touch the ball down before it ran off the end of the pitch.
Towards the end of the game, Norton's winger, Ross Miller, attacked the line, but was stopped short. Flanker, Sawkins, took the ball off and carried on the move to crash over for Norton's only try of the match. The game finished 10–19 in Swanage's favour, but the home side produced a much better performance.
