KEYNSHAM TOWN 1 PAULTON ROVERS 1

A great first work out for both sides ended even in the warm sunshine.

The young Paulton side produced some lovely early football without any end results. A neat move between Lee Ibrahim and Tyler Jackson tested the home keeper.

The hosts had a great chance from Jack Dancer’s free-kick, but Mike Grist blasted over. On twenty minutes, a good move involving Jackson and a Trialist saw a cross head wide by Alex Twiggs.

Dancey again took a freekick which Mike Brown headed wide.

The contrast between Paulton’s smart inter changing football and Keynsham’s more direct long ball was putting pressure on the Paulton defence.

Youth team player, Joe Paradise, was looking comfortable at centre back. On the stroke of half-time, Rovers’ keeper, Aaron Sainsbury, made a neat save low from Brown’s shot.

As the second half saw a host of changes and on forty-nine minutes, Paulton took the lead as Dave Rybeck hit a low shot that beat keeper Locke.

Jack Scrivens, making his Paulton debut, held onto a low shot from Brown and Dancey fired over from close range. George Fowler produced a ball for Luke Seviour to test the Keynsham defence.

On eighty-two minutes, Brown equalised, racing onto a long ball in the offside trap to slot past Scrivens. Minutes later, Rovers should have gone ahead as Dave O’Hare threaded a lovely pass to Jackson, whose shot bulged the side netting.

Paulton are at home on Saturday to Welsh Premier League side, Penybont, from Bridgend – kick-off 3 pm. Tony Walsh
