A great afternoon saw over 1,200 spectators witness an entertaining

encounter at Winterfield Road.

David Thompson opened the score for Liverpool on twenty-five minutes and five minutes later, Jason McAteer superbly added a second.

Kevin Presley hit a fine shot on fifty-two minutes and two minutes later, Paul Slocombe turned well to hit a rare right foot shot then Matt Chard put Rovers in front on the hour mark.

European Cup winner then missed a penalty before the visitors levelled through another spot kick – this time Thompson converted.

A real community event, the Liverpool players signed autographs and availed themselves for selfie photos.
