Paulton gave a plucky display against their slick opponents, as Sutton continue their Cup tradition in the FA Cup Fourth Qualifying Round.

Keiran Cadogan raced on to a through-ball by Craig Eastmond to give the visitors the lead on ten minutes.

Tommy Wright’s shot was held by Rovers keeper Andy Hannah, and Rovers levelled after nineteen minutes, as Dale Evans’ corner from the left fell to captain Josh Ford to thunder home.

On the stroke of half-time, Wright should have put Sutton ahead, but his header was weak and held by Hannah.

On the restart, Sutton pressed on and took the lead on fifty minutes, as Wright’s run and cross from the left was turned home by Cadogan.

They added to the tally five minutes later as a lovely cross by left-back Aswad Thomas was headed home by Louis John.

Paulton continued to take the fight to their National league visitors, and pulled a goal back on 77 minutes. Camen Harvey’s cross was flapped by the keeper under pressure from his own defender, and Dave Sims reacted first to roll the ball into the net with the help of the post. Good luck to Sutton in the next round.
