On Saturday, it was the Dimmock Green KO Cup Quarter-Finals, and there were some great games played.
Peasedown Albion entertained Coleford, where the home team didn’t really get into the game in the first half. Dan Reynolds got both goals for the visitors, one, a header from a Charlie Walton corner, the other following up to hit home a rebound from a missed penalty.
Coleford Goalkeeper, Reece Croker, superbly saved a Peasedown penalty, before Rico Sobers pulled one back for the home team to set up an exciting final twenty minutes, with Coleford hanging on to secure a Semi-Final place.
Elsewhere, goals from Sanquest and an own goal gave Frome Collegians a win over Bath Villa, 2-0, and Pilton beat Wells A at home, 2-0. There are exciting times ahead in this competition.
Only one game was played in the Premier Division – Westhill Sports recorded their second win of the season away to Victoria, 4-0. Netting the goals was a brace from Chris Phylips, Ben Grubb and an own goal.
In the First Division, High Littleton move up to second place, winning at home against Meadow Rangers, 5-0, and Somer Valley gained a very valuable point, drawing 3-3 at home to Timsbury Res. Scoring for the home team was Ben Teall (2) and Jon West-Gaul.
Belrose move to the top of the League in the Second Division, after beating Timsbury A at home, 3-0; Farrington move up to fourth with a very good away win at Stoke Rovers, 2-1, and Weston Bath stay third in the League, hammering Saltford Res 6-0 at home.
Frome Collegians Res move up to second in the Third Division, proving too strong for the young Chilcompton A team, winning away, 6-3. Getting the goals were Sam Griffins, Tom Brown, Josh Campbell, Lee Champion, Chris Bird and an own goal – the scoreline was made to look better with Jake Curtis scoring all three goals later in the game for the home team.
Westfield A are in fourth place, winning away at Evercreech Res, 4-1. Among the goals for the visitors were Harry Smith, Kyle Stock, Ross Baber and Danny Chiswell.
