Coleford, at home, produced a great performance to stake their claim in the Semi-Final of the Paulton Hospital Cup, beating a strong contender to win the Premier League, Peasedown Albion, 4-0.

Meanwhile, Radstock A also booked their place in the Semis, winning at home against Westhill Sports, 2-1.

In the Premier League, Pilton go back to the top after being 2-0 down away to Bath Villa. At half-time, they rallied the troops, and with goals from Stevens (2), Liam White and Will Reilly, they turned the tables to win 4-2. Elsewhere, Frome Collegians – playing a rare League game – beat Victoria Sports 9-0. Hitting the net were Lee Handford and Morgan Marsh with hat-tricks, and Adam Lock, Barry Sanquest and Chris Gait.

In the Clark Cup, Somer Valley booked their place in the Quarter-Finals by beating Evercreech 4-1 at home. Getting the goals were Man of the Match, Stan Ford (2), Jon West Gaul and Chris Spurrey. They will play Clutton Res next. Wells A also went through with a 6-1 home win against Chew Magna Res. They will next play Meadow Rangers.

The Second Division saw second-place Weston Bath away, overcoming the young Timsbury A, 9-0. The scoreline didn’t tell the full story as it was end-to-end in the first half, but the home defence found it difficult to contain the very quick number nine of the visitors.

In the Third Division, Mendip Rangers fought back after being behind to the youngsters of Chilcompton A, 2-0, to win 7-2 on the very small pitch at Oakhill. Meanwhile, Frome

Collegians Res went away to Charlton United and won 10-2, with goals coming from a Bird hat-trick, Mullane (2), Clark (2), Berryman, Bracher and an own-goal.

The Mid-Somerset Leagues pick of the League Manager, Paul Kingman, is putting together his team to play the Yeovil League in the Noyce/Wells Cup on Thursday, 28th March at Shepton Mallet; kick-off 7.30 p.m. Over the years, these fixtures have produced some great games of football, and our League will be looking to make it three wins in a row.
