It was first versus second in the Premier League – Pilton United at home against Peasedown Albion – and what a game it turned out to be for the many spectators, if not for the managers!

The visitors came away with the three points after winning 6-5. Scoring for Albion were Lee Gould (2), Rico Sobers (2), Olly Davidson and Scott Baker, putting them one point behind Pilton with two games in hand.

Bath Villa, in third place, had a comfortable win at home to Westhill Sports, 4-1, where Ben Grubb netted the consolation goal for the visitors.

Fourth-place Purnell Sports, with goals from Ross Davis (2), Luke Antoniou (2) and Caymen Hall, beat Westfield Res, 5-1, with Sam Millard scoring for the visitors.

Frome Collegians came out fighting for their lives in the second half after being 2-0 down at half-time to bottom team, Radstock A. With goals from Morgan Marsh, Adam Lock, Lee Handford and Barry Sanquest, they turned the game around to win 4-2.

Coleford travelled to Street to play Victoria and came away with three points, winning 7-0. Getting the goals were Jack Davis, back after injury with four, Curt Mcinerney (2) and Luke Sellers.

Second-place High Littleton in the First Division threw two points away at Timsbury Res, as the home side were reduced to ten men after 25 minutes, but the final score being 3-3. Netting for the home team were Midgley, Reynolds and Flower, with Deccers being voted Man of the Match.

Wells A lost ground on leaders, Peasedown Albion Res, losing at home to Evercreech, 2-1, and Clutton Res played out a 1-1 draw at home to Chilcompton Res; Louis Veal getting the visitors’ goal.

In the Second Division, Coleford Res are making a claim for the runners’-up spot after being 4-1 down at home to fourth-place Belrose. They came back from the dead with goals from Dan Willis (2), Adam Cray, Jack Bradley to win 5-4. Meanwhile, Weston Bath stay second after a good win 6-0 away to Farrington.

The Third Division saw Mendip Rangers move up to second after winning away to Chilcompton A, 4-2.

During the first twenty minutes, the visitors looked as if they would score many goals, but only managed one – a great header for Rahn from a corner.

The home young lads got their act together in the later part of the first half, with the speedy Jake Curtis causing many problems to the visitors’ defence, and got his reward when he outran the back four to hammer the ball past the keeper.

After another good move, Matt Weaver increased the lead and should have made it 3-1 on the stroke of half-time, heading wide with an open goal at his mercy.

The second half belonged to the visitors, kicking down the slope. Goals from Hefferman, Mortimer and Roberts sealed the win.
