Last Saturday marked the start of the full programme of the Mid-Somerset Football League.

In the Paulton Hospital Cup, the Coleford derby resulted in the first team overcoming the Reserves 3–0, goals coming from Jack Davies, Charlie Walton and substitute, Ossian Gould.

In the Premier League, Interhound and Purnell Sports fought out a 2–2 draw, Radstock A won in a five goal thriller against Westfield Sports, 3–2, with two goals from Dean Harding and one from Matt Dera. Frome Collegians travelled to Wells A and came away with a very good 5–2 win.

The First Division had the highest scorers of the day when Victoria Sports Street visited Meadow Rangers. With only a goal between them at half-time, and the away side 2–1 up, no-one could forsee what was going to happen in the second half. Victoria ran out 11–2 winners with goals coming from Dan Linham bagging five, Mat Day, two, John Hampton, two, and Craig Chant and Joe Everard getting one each. Baltonsborough had a good win at home against Belrose, 4–1, and Westhill,

scoring five past Clutton scorers, Ben Grubb (2), Max Rogers, Jordon Rupprich and Luke Bridges.

In the Second Division, Bath Villa, at their new home at Odd Down playing fields, got off to a great start to the season, beating Evercreech 5–0, scorers Darico Taylor (2), Jack Wington, (2) and Tom Bowen. Frome Town Sports had a good 3–2 win away to Saltford and Somer got off to a excellent start to the new season with a 6–1 win against Pensford, goals coming from Paul Halsey (2), Dean Haley, (2), Howard Dennis and Jack Hansford.

New team, Peasedown Albion Reserves, had a good away 5–0 win against one of the top teams in the Third Division last season. Goals from Tom Pielesz (3), Brad Gould and Louis Diegutis. Timsbury Reserves had a good away win, 5–2 to

Westfield A, and Chilcompton United fought out a 3–3 draw with Farrington Reserves. Goals for Chilcompton came from Glenn Witts (2) and Gary Jefferies, goals for Farrington from James Swift, Tony Bennett and Leon Rigby. Old Crown Weston
