Paulton Rovers Football Club has appointed Josh Hurst – a UEFA B licence Coach who grew up in Radstock and has been a full-time coach for the past five years, as thew new Head of Youth Football Development.
Josh said: “The aim for me is to provide as many opportunities for local players as possible – whether that is by helping a player to kick a ball for the first time, or whether it’s to help a player in their quest of playing football at the highest level possible.
“Players will be able to use the centre as an extra training tool or can represent the club in one of our Matchday squads.
“This season, Paulton Rovers will have five teams (Under-9s, Under-10s, Under-14s, Under-15s, Under-16s) playing games in the Junior Premier League – the highest standard youth league outside of Academy.
“My ambition is to make this accessible to players in all age groups, whilst also providing coaching sessions for the next generation of local talent, Under-6–Under-8s. We will also be working locally, helping other grassroots teams/schools with providing unique opportunities for children in football.
“It is a very exciting time for the club and I personally cannot wait to get started!”
The club’s ‘ultimate ambition’ is to progress young players into the Evostik Southern League with the First Team, and Josh will be working closely with First Team Manager, John Rendell, and his coaches, Paul Tovey and Gary Powell.
If you would like a free trial session with Paulton Rovers then please contact Josh on: 07791 515574, email: [email protected] Training for all age groups next season begins in July.
