Hamworthy United 1 Paulton Rovers 1

Paulton came away with a deserved point on a fast playing 3G pitch. There were debuts for Rovers new signings striker Joe Morgan and midfielder Jack Dancey with Chris Peck out injured and Dave O'Hare unavailable.

Early on Mike Ilea was alert to clear and right back Harvey Wright tried from distance. Hamworthy, tricky right winger on loan from Weymouth was well marshalled by Nuno Felix.

Will Hailston and Ed Butcher both tested home keeper Tommy Scott as the former Southampton giant saved.

Rovers went ahead on 27 minutes as Butcher picked the ball up in his own half threaded a pass to Morgan who drove the past Scott.

Hamworthy striker Max Wilcock twice brought fine save from Paulton stopper Aaron Sainsbury and Monks fired a shot wide.

On half-time a neat move between Wilcock and Sam Griffin saw Paradise block an attempt.

Paulton came out after the half time break looking more determined and spurned a great chance on 48 minutes as Morgan's flicked header saw Butcher race goalward. His attempt to chip keeper Scott who somehow manager to block the goal bound ball.

A happy trip back to Somerset with managers Craig Loxton and John Durbin getting their first league points.
