PAULTON Rovers ended the winter in ninth place in the Premier Division of the Jewson Western Football League, following the previous season’s relegation.

They won 18 of their 38 matches, drawing five and losing 15, finishing with a total of 59 points. There was a point in the season when they looked like making the play-offs.

Portishead Town won the championship - their second successive title victory - with 91 points from 38 games, five points more than runners-up Clevedon Town.

Welton Rovers finished rock bottom with only four points, winning just the one match, drawing one and losing 36. They finished with a minus goals tally of 152.

Hallen won the first division, after winning 31 of their 42 fixtures. They drew six and lost only five matches. They finished 13 points clear of runners-up Calne Town.

Gillingham Town were another side in the Jewson League to win only one match, finishing 15 points adrift at the bottom of the table.
