Manager John Rendell made two changes from the team that lost to North Leigh, with Kailen Gould and Joe Guest outgoing, and Ball and Chandler coming into the side on a cold December afternoon.

Paulton took the edge very early on, with Liam Monelle having his shot saved by keeper, Joe Perry. Nine minutes in, Robbie Atkinson hit the near post. Four minutes later, Rovers took the lead, with Liam Monelle’s edge-of-the-box shot ending up in the top left-hand corner.

Paulton were forced into an early substitution, as Kyle Knott injured his leg and was replaced by Josh Cann.

Cinderford found their stride late on in the first half, but could not hit the target.

Cinderford came out fighting in the second half, with Hicks hitting just wide. Just past the hour mark, Cinderford found an equaliser, with Robbie Atkinson heading past keeper, Liam Armstrong.

Towards the end of the second half, Paulton had four or five chances on goal, with Josh Morgan Williams, Liam Monelle and Dale Evans all hitting straight at the keeper.

Rovers headed into Tuesday’s game with a point to prove. Star Man of the Match: Liam Monelle, Paulton Rovers.
