PAULTON ROVERS 2 CAMBRIDGE CITY 1
Cambridge had the better of the first half, although Tom Knighton should have scored after five minutes for Paulton. Jordan Ricketts’ persistance found Knighton, who rounded keeper, Zac Bassett, allowing him to pounce on the ball.
City saw Danny Kelly cross for Ben Castiglione, heading wide after fourteen minutes. Near the half hour, Rovers twice saw Bassett tip the ball over the bar from Joe Chandler then Craig Allan.
Cambridge responed with James Hall firing wide, then setting up Paul Cooper, whose goal-bound shot hit Chandler for a corner.
In the final minute, Hall outpaced the Rovers defence from a long ball and with the goal at his mercy, somehow shot wide.
The second half started with Ricketts and Mateus firing over, then City had a great chance with Cooper crossing, headed on by Kelly then Hall heading over the bar.
The Lilywhites made it 1–0 after 64 minutes, as Hall got in behind the Rovers defence to score.
Paulton made three substitutions, injecting life into their performance on 77 minutes with Ricketts finding Douglas who laid the ball back to Dave O’Hare, whose low cross was touched home by Mullings.
Five minutes later, Mullings saw Bassett turn his shot for a corner taken by Aaron Brown and headed home by Josh Read to the delight of Manager, Tony Ricketts.
Match of the Match: Josh Read (Paulton Rovers).
