Paulton Rovers’ Ladies played out an entertaining 2–2 draw with Keynsham Town Reserves but will feel disappointed to only gain a point having led twice in the game.
SWWL Eastern Division:
Paulton Rovers’ Ladies 2 Keynsham Town Reserves 2
In a high energy game, the visitors started strongest and pinned Paulton back but patience throughout the team won through as Martha Slocombe opened the scoring after twenty minutes rounding off a great breakaway, and good work by strike partner Alex Gwyther who applied a deft flick into her path.
Keynsham equalised after twenty-eight minutes with an unstoppable shot from the edge of the area that found the top corner. Tracey Rouemaine was working hard in midfield along with Captain Bollema, Jordan Box and Ami Cook in defence to keep the various dangerous Keynsham breakaways at bay as an entertaining half ended 1–1.
The second half started a little scrappy as the visitors became more physical, which also saw them pick up a couple of yellow cards. On sixty-seven minutes, top scorer, Alex Gwyther, fired home with a great finish off a post and it started to look like being the winner before the visitors again found an equalizer ten minutes from time, when a free-kick wasn’t cleared properly and the Keynsham forward placed a shot in off the post at the second attempt to see the sides share a point each in what was a great advert for Ladies’ football.

SCWL Division One:
Paulton Ladies Reserves 2 Burnham United Ladies 2
Paulton Ladies’ Reserves played out a 2–2 draw with Burnham Utd Ladies but will feel disappointed to have dropped two points having conceded late in the game.
The first half saw the hosts have the most possession and create the most chances, but a mixture of missed opportunities and good saves by the young visiting keeper saw the half end goalless. The work-rate was high across the pitch and even a few substitutions didn’t break the pattern of play.
The second half was a similar affair in terms of possession, but good chances started to be created at both ends. On sixty-eight minutes, Captain Molly Haskins opened the scoring after great play by winger, Amy Seymour, but the visitors equalized two minutes later with a free back post header from a well taken corner.
Paulton made a few changes in an effort to win the game and it looked like paying off when on seventy-eight minutes top scorer, Chloe Stone, finished well with an instinctive shot that gave the impressive Burnham keeper no chance. However, with time running out, the visitors found a second equalizer on eighty-five minutes with another free header from another well taken corner. Paulton tried in vain to take the lead again but ran out of time in a well-contested game.

SCWL Division Three:
Porlock LFC 3 Paulton Ladies Development 9
Paulton Development started by kicking up the slope and it didn’t take long for Jasmine Ford to open the scoring, slotting a ball in past the keeper and another goal came following some lovely work down the left by Lauryn Curtis and Evie Webb, who found Mia Vickery to apply the finishing touch. Straight from the kick-off, Mia pounced again and all by herself hit the ball in for her second and the visitors’ third, all within twelve minutes.
Porlock were handed a lifeline when Captain for the day, Tilly Hall, played a pass back to the Paulton keeper only to watch it slip under her foot and roll into the unguarded net. Mel Newbery restored the three goal advantage as she thumped home a shot to see Paulton end the half 4-1 to the good.
The second half saw Evie Webb score as she was rewarded ten minutes in with a well-placed shot, but this only seemed to spark Porlock into life. The hosts had their best spell of the game and the quick striker won a free-kick just outside the box before stepping up and putting the ball into the top corner. Five minutes later, the same player rounded the Paulton keeper and calmly slotted in for Porlock’s third.
The comeback was halted as Jasmine Ford then grabbed her second of the day, and some great running down the right by Courtney Edmonds saw her put a great strike past the Porlock keeper for her first of the season. Shortly afterwards, a corner fell to Ayesha Cunio, who smacked the ball into the back of the net to score her first ever goal in Adult football.
There was also time for Jasmine to complete her hat-trick and round off a great team performance.
Player of the Match was Lauryn Curtis.
