Paulton started brightly, with Ben Withey’s cross meeting the head of Ben Bament, who made it 1–0.
Nuno Felix’s free kick was palmed down into the path of Ryan Gay, who slotted it home for the second goal. Dave Sims-Burgess made it 3–0 three minutes later as he fired a volley past the keeper, who couldn’t keep it out with a hand to it.
On the half hour mark, a corner found the head of Skipper, Craig Allan, who netted it for his first of the season and Paulton’s fourth.
Ben Bament set up Dave Sims-Burgess, who slotted it round the keeper for goal five and a minute later, he made it six, as Ali Sen’s cross found his head and put it in the back of the net.
Paulton scored again, one minute into the second half, as Ed Butcher scored the seventh and number three’s rebounds were blocked into the path of the oncoming substitute.
Weston got a consolation goal as Kempster’s penalty was slotted past debutant, Aaron Sainsbury.
Ben Bament got the eighth as he chipped it over the Weston keeper, shortly after he managed a ninth goal as Butcher’s cross was put into the path of Ben Bament, who made it 9–1. Bament got his fourth and Paulton’s tenth as he chipped it over the keeper for a second time.
Paulton’s eleventh was headed home by a diving Ryan Gay and Rovers’ twelfth was slotted home by Ed Butcher to seal the win.
Tuesday, 3rd December will see the first team kick off at 7.45 p.m. at the Buildbase FA Trophy in the third qualifying round at Sholing.
First Team: The winners will play at Bath City on Saturday, 14th December.
Saturday, 7th December sees the First team at home against Bristol Manor Farm, kick-off at 3 p.m.
On Tuesday evening, as The Journal went to press, Rovers were due to play the third round of the Southern League Challenge Cup at home to Taunton.
Reserves: Saturday saw a 1–0 win at Westfield A for the Reserves, with a goal from Rio Bryant. The side will be away on Saturday, 7th December at Peasedown Albion in the Tony Baxter Shield, kick-off at 2 p.m.
Youth Team: On Thursday, 5th December, our Youth team will play at home to Winscombe U18s and then again on Thursday, 12th December at home against Corsham Town U18s. Both games kick-off at 7.30 p.m.
