Three goals in as many minutes early in the second half sunk relegated Paulton’s resistance with Chippenham supporters in fine voice.

Andy Sandell hit a seventh minute shot straight at Rovers keeper, Ben John and a minute later, Matt Smith crossed for the Bluebell’s veteran striker to head wide.

The home side continued to dominate, with Alex Ferguson accepting a misplaced ball and finding Sandell, who laid the ball to Ben Whitehead, who wasted a great chance. Paulton nearly went ahead as Steve Williams’ cross was headed wide by Craig Allan. Town won a succesion of corners, with Sandell, then Griffin, passing up golden oppertunities.

Chippenham had one way traffic early in the second half and on 53 minutes took the lead. Sandell’s long throw from the right found Griffin, who turned and hit a thunderous shot which hit the underside of the bar and into the net.

Two minutes later and Ferguson broke down the left and chipped the ball over John. In the next minute, it was 3–0 in a similar vein as Ferguson repeated the chip to score.

Sandell should have added to the score twice, seeing shots blocked, then from Ferguson’s pass, somehow the ball was put over the bar from three yards out. Rovers’ effort came late on as Jordan Ricketts’ cross was headed wide by Allan.
