Paulton came through a tricky and at times physical encounter at Shepton who were previously managed by Rovers’ Craig Loxton and John Durbin.

Shepton were on top in the first half and took an eleventh minute lead when Reed headed home Nathan Legge’s corner. There was an impressive display by Mallet skipper, Jake Sloggett.

Rovers’ dominated the second half and drew level after seventy two minutes when Leo Eglin set up Trialist A who slotted home.

Three minutes later a foul on Trialist A saw a penalty converted by Martin Lenihan.

Paulton completed proceedings as Eglin drove home from close range on eighty eight minutes.

Rovers continue the pre-season build up away at Slimbridge on Saturday, then home to Welton Rovers today (Tuesday, 18th July) kick-off 7.30pm then welcome Bristol City to Winterfield Road on Saturday, 22nd July, kick-off 3pm.
