From last Saturday’s round of the Somerset Intermediate Cup, the Mid-Somerset League has the following teams through to the next round.
Belrose, Frome Town Sports Reserves, Bath Villa, Glastonbury Reserves, Farrington Reserves, Peasedown Albion and Westhill Reserves – well done, lads.
In the Premier League, Coleford won a hard-fought match away to Frome Collegians, 2–1. Goals for Coleford came from Jack Davies and Curt Mcinerney. Purnell Reserves, at home, had an awful day against Westfield Reserves, losing 9–0. Amongst the goals were Harry Scipper, Fred Lines, Harry Mclachlan, Sam Gregory (2), James Hucker (2) and substitute, Ollie Jones (2). Interhound kept up their good start to the season with an away win at Radstock A, 2–0, and Wells won at Temple Cloud, 3–0.
The First Division had the two old rivals pitched together, Victoria beating Baltonsborough 3–2 at home. Westhill did well to go to Chilcompton Reserves and win 3–2. Clutton travelled to High Littleton and came away with a very good 6–3 win with goals from Tom Bull (3), Marcus Hayward, Alex Coombes and James Kearle. Meadow Rangers could not hold the Pilton forwards, losing at home 8–1.
In the Second Division, Coleford Reserves, at home, played out a 0–0 draw against Evercreech. Somer Valley continued their good start with a 2–1 win away to Mells Reserves, Jon West-Gaul getting both goals.
The Third Division saw Chilcompton A at home beat Timsbury Reserves 2–1 with goals from Dean Butler and substitute, James Chinnock. Peasedown Albion Reserves continued to impress, scoring seven away to Old Crown who scored just one in reply. Peasedown scorers were Brad Gould (3), Henry Steeds (2), Aaron Vine and Olly Neech. Chilcompton United travelled to Pilton Reserves, scoring six goals. Scorers were Danny Chiswell (3), Glen Witts and substitute, Chris Bishop (2), Purnell A won at Westfield A 3–1, scorers were Daniel Sheppard, Anthony Horner and substitute, Ryan James.
This coming Saturday is the Dimmock Green KO Cup, with the game of the day being Westhill versus Mells. This should be well worth watching – and can High Littleton halt the good start of Victoria Street?
