Pilton United kept up their good form in the Premier League, winning at home against Westfield Reserves 8–0. Netting the goals were a hat- trick from Luke Woodall, two from Curtis Stevens, George Carey, Ryan Crowther and Will Reilly.
Peasedown Albion lost some ground to the leaders in second place by losing away to the in-form Frome Collegians. The home team were two up through an own goal and a header from Adam Lock. The visitors pulled back level through Lee Gould and Rico Sobers, and in the last ten minutes, the home team scored two goals to take the three points. Scoring the goals were a header from LJ Watz and a neat winner from Barry Sanquest.
Bath Villa move up to third with a massive home win, 2–0, against Coleford Athletic. Westhill Sports won away to bottom team, Radstock A, 2–1 and Purnell Sports stay fourth, winning away at Victoria Sports, 4–2.
In the First Division, Peasedown Albion stay top, but they had to fight hard to hang on to a 2–2 draw at home against Wells A. Chew Magna Reserves move up to second place after their home win against Chilcompton Reserves, 4–2.
Getting the goals for the home team were Conar Hunt (2); one straight from the kick-off, lobbing the ball over the visitors’ goalkeeper’s head, straight from the centre spot after the visitors had made it 3–1, and two from Scott Roper.
Clutton Reserves had their shooting boots on at home against Meadow Rangers, winning 5–2. Getting the goals for the visitors were Wesley Dredge and Dan Sheppard.
Evercreech played out a 2–2 draw with Timsbury Reserves.
Wessex, in Division Two, took a step closer to the league title with a 3–1 away win to Glastonbury Reserves. Hitting the net for the visitors were Luke Ayres, Lee Gooding and Alex Priddice. Coleford Reserves move up to third in the table, beating Timsbury A away, 7–1 and Saltford Reserves had an excellent home win against Stoke Rovers, 4–1. Goalscorers were Callam Dear, Tom Baker, Jacob Reeves and substitute, Ashley Payne.
The Third Division leaders, Peasedown Albion A suffered their third loss of the season, losing at home to Frome Collegians Reserves, 2–1. Hitting the net for the visitors were Jonathan Douglas and Josh Campbell. Bottom team, Charlton United, secured their first point of the season, drawing 2–2 with Evercreech Reserves.
It was Somerset Intermediate Cup day last Saturday. Sadly, the league lost High Littleton to Castlemoat at home, 4–2. Netting for the home team were Luke Tucker and Joe Rendall.
The Mid-Somerset League are pleased to have one team going through – Weston Bath had an excellent 3–0 win against the cup favourites, Queen Camel. Well done, lads, looking forward to seeing you in the final – no pressure, of course!
