Timsbury bounced back from their poor display the previous week with a comprehensive victory at local rivals, Peasdown, winning 3–1 in this Somerset County League Division One East game.

The first half was a very one-sided affair, with the home side failing to make a single shot on target. Cook could have opened the scoring in the first minute, when he beat Milloy in the home goal to a cross from the right by Midgely, only to see his shot pass the wrong side of the post. Cook then raced onto a through ball from Blanin, but saw his shot from the edge of the box fly over.

Peasedown struggled to handle the pace of Timsbury forwards, Blanin and Cook, and the pair combined again, only for Cook to see his shot across the keeper narrowly miss. Despite their domination, the score remained level until the last minute of the half, when after a strong run on the left, Hailston found Cook, who played a fine ball to Hancock, whose shot from ten yards made no mistake, giving Malloy no chance in the home goal.

Within five minutes of the restart, Timsbury were two up; Bishop’s persistence on the left resulted in a fine cross to the far post, which Hancock was able to head back across the keeper to claim his and the team’s second of the match.

Blanin then made it three, fending off two defenders and leaving him one-on-one with the keeper, who made a fine save from his initial shot, only to see it rebound to the feet of Cook, who unselfishly passed sideways to Blanin to shoot into an open goal.

Peasedown finally had their first attempt on target on the hour, when a raising shot from Tyler from a full 25 yards was well tipped over by Gay in the Timsbury goal. Blanin had a chance to increase the lead further when running on to a through ball from Cook, only to see his lob over the advancing keeper fail to hit the target. Then, with twenty minutes left, Davis made it 3–1 after a fine shot from eighteen yards.

This led to the home side’s best period of the match, creating a few half chances without really troubling keeper, Gay. Timsbury’s defence held firm, being well marshalled by the ageless Smith, whose calmness under pressure again showed that he is still one step ahead of the youngsters.
