Timsbury Athletic made it eleven goals in two home games to maintain their position at the top of Division One East.
Rhys Cook was the hat-trick hero, but it was an all-round confident performance against a Fry Club Reserve side who were much better than the scoreline suggests.
Cook and Ellis Hancock had early chances for the home side, but were both denied by visiting keeper Rob Taylor. The breakthrough came after twelve minutes, when central defender Matt Brooks came up for a Liam Craze corner, and hit cleanly past Taylor. Ebner Heatley wasted another good chance for the home side, when he broke clear but shot wide.
A fine shot from Josh James came close to an equalizer for Fry Club, but his fierce shot was just over the top. Timsbury went 2 up after 37 minutes, when Jack Nix set Cook clear, and the striker hammered an unstoppable shot into the Fry Club net. Just before half-time, Timsbury keeper Jack Scrivens earned his corn with a superb save to deny Neil Pincott.
Timsbury kept up the pressure in the second half, but the visitors were never out of the game, and the dangerous James had another effort blocked by the solid home rearguard. Timsbury went further ahead after 57 minutes, when Cook broke clear and finished confidently.
The home side then sent on teenage substitute Tuso Makombe, and he was soon in the action – dashing down the right before crossing for Cook to add his third goal. Makombe himself then got on the scoresheet after bursting through, before the visitors claimed a deserved consolation goal, with a fine shot from Brad Bush.
Timsbury were still not finished with Cook, laying on a second goal for Makombe, as Timsbury totted up 27 goals in just seven league games this season. Malcolm Tucker
