Bradford Town 0 Paulton Rovers U-18s 3

Paulton Rovers’ U-18s travelled to Bradford Town on Tuesday night for the long awaited top of the table clash.

Paulton started the brighter of the two teams with Ben Smith having his left-footed volley stopped excellently from close range within the first five minutes, followed by another excellent save five minutes later when Tom Ovigne’s shot from just outside the box looked to be heading for the top corner, only to be pushed around the post.

After surviving the early opportunities, Bradford then grew into the game and started to get more possession, however the Paulton defence stood firm and prevented the home side from creating any clear chances to score.

Ovigne managed to find the breakthrough after beating two players inside the box before smashing the ball into the roof of the net to give the visitors the lead.

Joe Paradise, Harley Prior and Carter Bailey were all brought onto the pitch with 30 minutes left to play. The hosts were now looking to get the ball forward and risking pushing players up to get back into the game.

Unfortunately for them, this left their defence outnumbered and after some good combination play between the two substitutes, Carter Bailey got himself on the scoresheet just ten minutes after coming on to the pitch to make it 3–0.

Paulton finished the game deserved winners after a convincing performance in the second half. Good luck to Bradford for the remainder.
