WELTON RESERVES 4 ASHTON AND BLACKWELL RESERVES 3
Welton’s home game against Wincanton was called off following a mid-morning inspection at West Clewes which found the pitch unplayable after the recent heavy rain.
However, Welton Reserves’ game was very much on, seeing them away to Ashton and Blackwell Reserves, where they continued their unbeaten run and good form with a hard fought 4–3 victory over their hosts.
Goals from Jed Parfitt, Joe Battrick and two from Alfie Dix did the damage.
Dix scored his second goal with a stunning thirty-yard strike with five minutes remaining to secure the points for Welton and move them seven points clear at the top of the table.
This Saturday, 25th January, weather permitting, Welton’s first team travel to Ashton and Blackwell. Kick-off is 3 p.m., where they are hoping to consolidate on their previous good win over Cheddar.
The Reserves are at home to Long Ashton, also with a 3 p.m. kick off.
