Norton had been looking forward to the visit of Dorchester RFC, wanting to put right their failings when they lost in the reverse fixture. Dorchester started the day poorly, having to borrow a set of shirts, after travelling to Norton without their own and the home team set about adding to their problems.

Winning the toss and playing down the slope, Norton soon put the visitors under pressure and Button crossed the line for the first score of the day. Dorchester tried to take control of the game and after a period of pressure, were awarded a try, although the home side felt they had held the ball up.

Being supplied with some quick ball, fly half, Ben Taylor, started to control the game and was able to put his running backs into good attacking positions. Martin, Mitchard and Miller made good use of this possession, causing the visiting defence problems until eventually, Miller scored Norton's second try of the game. The half finished with Norton having a good lead, but with a lot to do up the hill in the second half.

After the half-time team talk, the home side quickened the game up and started to move the visitors around, finding the spaces rather than taking them head on. As the pace of the game increased, Mitchard took advantage of the gaps appearing in the opposition's defensive line. The forwards were consistently winning the breakdown and this constant pressure forced Dorchester to compete illegally, resulting in two players sin binned.

Having allowed the backs to score three tries, the forwards decided it was their turn and drove their Captain over the line for the fifth try of the day. The team could have had more tries, as good scoring chances were left begging and Ben Taylor marred a good kicking game by overcooking two kicks into the corner.

Norton played the last ten minutes with fourteen men, after their Captain was sin binned. This didn't cause too many problems, as the last ten minutes of the game was played in Dorchester's 22m area. As the clock wound down, a kick through the defence allowed winger, Rideout, to beat the defence for Norton's last try of the game. The final score was 44–5, with fly half, Taylor, collecting four conversions and two penalties.
