Fosseway Bowls Club is pleased to announce that it has now installed a Defibrillator inside the clubhouse.

The equipment was supplied by the Community Heartbeat Trust and thirty or so members of the club received initial training from a representative of the company, namely, Richard Schofield, who has many years experience in this field.

The unit is battery powered with the battery life being up to five years and all instructions on its usage are spoken through recorded messages. The club is extremely grateful to the administrators of the Ralph and Irma Sperring Trust, who gave a grant of £800 towards the cost, the balance being raised by donations and various events being held at the club.

Club Secretary, Ray Soby, said: "This is one of the many pieces of equipment that the club has, but we hope it will never have to be used."
