A countback was needed to establish the winner of the latest competition in the Seniors section of Fosseway Golf Club. Malcolm Tucker, with a nett 63, just edged out Bill Lester, who also had a 63 in the Three Club Challenge. They were competing for the Arctic Star Trophy, which was presented to the club by Colin Eaton. Denis White was third with a nett 64.
This week sees the final of the Guerwyn Thomas Trophy which began back in January. Allen Cheney and John Ticehurst will battle it out with Howard Nowell and John Wighton. The next club event sees members competing for the Stan Brown Cup on Thursday. It has been announced that the Seniors have been drawn to play Saltford in the County Rose Bowl competition. It will be held at Stockwood Vale Golf Club some time in April.
Malcolm Tucker
