Totton had an early chance as Ethan Taylor tested home keeper, Aaron Taylor.

Dan Dempsey, returning from injury, linked well to Lee Ibrahim to send Ed Butcher down the left, only for his shot to be held by Lewis Noice. Taylor again key fly, bringing a fine low save from Sainsbury. From the corner, the stopper was on hand to punch away.

Totton had a great chance as half-time approached, as Brett Williams sent Shaquile Gwengwe away firing well over.

On the restart, Dempsey found Ibrahim, who laid the ball to Butcher, but his shot was blocked.

Williams then tested Sainsbury, with Paulton responding as Will Harvey broke down the right and his cross was headed over by Leighton Thomas.

Paulton’s back four of James Byrne, Josiah Dunstan, Nuno Felix and Captain, Neil Martin were firm in erasing Totton’s attacking threat.

Butcher then had a free-kick saved low by Noice and in the final minutes, Totton had a great chance to pinch it as Harry Medway’s cross from the left had poor connection by Hishim Kasimu and Dempsey was on hand to clear off the line.
