Seven-year-old Darcy Brooks achieved a Gold Medal, one of only two Golds awarded at The Spark Gymnastics Competition held at Bath University’s Sports Training Village recently.
Darcy, from Midsomer Norton, is the only daughter of Andrea and Mark Brooks and trains at Writhlington Sports Centre twice a week, a total of six hours. She is also a pupil at St John’s School, Midsomer Norton and a member of the Sue Hill Dance Company, Radstock.
She also loves swimming and is an avid reader. She began her gymnastics training two years ago and has no intention of giving it up. Darcy has said how much help her trainer, Naomi Jones, has been to her. Perhaps we have in Darcy a future Olympics star!
