An interesting task was set for the Ladies in the Stableford competition last Thursday. They had to play from the Men’s tees on even-numbered holes, and from the Ladies’ tees on odd-numbered holes.

This sounds fine in theory, but with the course reduced to thirteen holes, it meant six holes were played off the Men’s tees, four holes played from the Ladies’ tees and three holes shared the same tee boxes.

38 ladies took on the challenge in the drizzly rain, with thirteen commendably scoring twenty or more points. No-one in the field scored a birdie, which shows just how tough the playing conditions were on the day.

Lena Warren scored 23 points to take first place. Jane Ball was second with 22 points, ahead on countback from Rosi Brown, who took third place.
