Farrington Park’s Mixed Section welcomed in the New Year, 2020, with a ‘January Jumble’ competition, on Sunday, 5th January. The format was a two ball Scramble Stableford.

The ‘Jumble’ element of the day comprised of the competitors not playing with their usual partners and the tee boxes were swapped on three holes, meaning the men played on the ladies’ tee boxes and visa versa for the ladies. Five other holes were played from the same tee boxes and the remaining ten holes were played from the usual positions. There were two ‘nearest the pin’ holes, won by Mike Woodward and Lin Papas.

After a very tasty carvery meal, the competition results were announced. All the fourteen teams had good scores, but the winning teams’ scores were very high.

Fourth, 51 points, Sue Forshaw and Paul Thomas, third, 52 points, Pauline Brixey and Steve Hobbs, second, 52 points on countback, Mandy Hobbs and Steve Park. The winners, with a fantastic score of 58 points, were Issey Panton and John Ward.
