It has been a busy time for the Seniors section of Fosseway Golf Club with the completion of three club competitions.
The Committee Cup saw the pairing of Gerry Rowell and Bob Smith come out on top, with a nett score of 64. In the greensomes format they were one shot ahead of Howard Nowell and Pat Cray, with Brian Phelps and Malcolm Tucker third on 68.
Sybil Tabb was a welcome guest at the event held in memory of her husband, Roger, who had been such a big influence in the club. The winners of the Roger Tabb Cup were Allen Cheney and John Appleton, with a nett score of 66. Three shots behind came Cyril Blacker and John Williams, with Geoff Hallett and Bob Smith third, with a nett score of 72.
Phil Moody continued his successful season with victory in the Eric James Bogey competition. His total of +5 saw him beat Terry Button (+3) and John Walters (+2).
Congratulations to Allen Cheney and Cyril Blacker, together with former Fosseway player, Dave Jones, who now plays at Farrington, for their first place in the Cricket St Thomas Seniors Open Scramble competition.
