For the third time in four years, Geoff and Linda Hallett reigned supreme when the
Seniors’ section of Fosseway Golf Club held its annual puttsomes competition.
The event sees the men play the shots to the green, with the ladies doing the putting. Their joint efforts saw them lift the Joe Hawkins Cup, and Linda also recorded the best putting score, but under the rules of the competition, competitors can only win one prize and so the Top Lady award went to Sue Francis, who was partnering Martyn Cuer. Marlene Phelps, who was partnering husband and competition secretary Brian, who organised the event in his usual efficient manner, was second, with Diana Nowell, who partnered husband Howard, third. Brian Woodruff continued his recent good form in winning the men’s event with a nett score of 15 points. Malcolm Tucker
