At least it stayed dry for once when the Mendip Mixed pairings played their January Competition.

It was very cold, but thankfully, at last, the sun shone.

After the competition, all the players sat down to an excellent carvery prepared by Alan and the Clubhouse Team.

The scoring was high, with the winners, Clive Copp and Pippa Brown, carding 46 points. This was only one better than Hilary Rowdon and Martin Osborne in second place. Cora and Terry Pavey were in third place with 42.

38 ladies played in a three Clubs and a Putter event over nine holes. Again, it was very cold but sunny.

Silver Division saw a win for Lynn Cox, with an outstanding 23 points, with Elaine P. Richardson second, with 20, and Margaret Allen, third, with 19.

Bronze Division went to Libby Bellew, with 18, Dee Garnsworthy was second, with 17 and Margaret Hawker, third, with 16.

Copper Division was won by Caroline Laws with 22, but only after countback from Sue Needham, with Jill Jestico third, with 19, again after countback.

The Pro Shop Nearest the Pin went to Mark Necker, with Wayne Srawley second and Bryan Lewis, third.
