A pairing put together at the last moment came up trumps in the Roger Tabb Cup in the Seniors’ section of Fosseway Golf Club, winning the event by three shots.
Graham Edgell and Reg Curtis played consistently throughout to record a nett 57 in the Winter Foursomes. Seniors’ Secretary, Alan Jones and George Underwood were second with a nett 60, with Allen Cheney and Malcolm Tucker third with a nett 61.
Countback was necessary to sort out the destination of the John
Appleton Trophy in the Over-75s Stableford.
The original event had to be abandoned due to heavy rain, but when it was replayed, Terry Button and Mike Weeks both scored 43 points with Button claiming first place on countback. Pat Cray was third, a further point back.
