In warm, dry but overcast conditions The Stragglers started their season with their yellow ball competition.
There were seven teams in all with the first team scoring twice as many points as the last team! The winners were Richard Williams, ably supported by Len Willis, who also won the bottle of wine for NP in two on 15th.
Bernard Young hit his first tee shot, and hit the OOB post and his total drive was about twenty yards. However, Adam Holliday (I hit a ball ‘A Country Mile’, but I’m not sure where) managed only just over a foot on the sixth tee!
Was there a prize for hitting a pheasant on the 11th fairway? No, not in the rules I’m afraid.
A convivial, enjoyable start to the season.
