Ben Roberts and Ashton Wylie won the Harry Parkes Cup with an amazing 45 points. The Fourball Better Ball Stableford format gave the juniors the chance to play their own game well. Ed Higgs and Tom Roberts came in second, just one point behind on 44 points.

The Ladies Autumn Meeting was a Three Ball Bowmaker, played in glorious sunshine. The winning team of Gill Magrath, Phyllis Lewison and Tina Davies came in with a better back nine (38 points) to put Sue Wells, Margaret Sellar and Jenny Ead in second place, both teams having 72 points.

There was a terrific turn out of players for the final Seniors’ medal of the year. The conditions were interesting with warmth, gentle winds and reasonably firm fairways.

Colin Webber scored 69 nett, coming third. Glen Crocker had a better back nine, so his nett 69 gave him second place, and the winner was Bill McCollum, with an excellent nett 66.

The Ladies’ Four Ball Bowmaker Open attracted entries from far and wide. The first visiting team from Bristol and Clifton came in with 84 Stableford points, hotly pursued by the home team of Club Captain, Erica Klim, Jill Evans, Jill Bocquet and Sandra Ford with 83 points. Third overall were Tina Davies, Janice White, Sue Wells and Jenny Davis. Glynis Slater won nearest the pin for the Silver Division and Kitty Usher and Diane Ramsay scooped a two spot each.

A large number of teams enjoyed the Four Ball Better Ball Open, though the first few teams had wet conditions to contend with. The first home team after countback were Geoff Dyer and Alan Obern with 42 points, putting Paul Lewer and Mark Lewer in second place. Third overall were Ladies’ Captain Gill Magrath and her husband, Mike Magrath, with 41 points. Nearest the pins were Paul Lewer, Michael Cundill, Geoff Dyer and Alan Obern.
