STUDENTS from Midsomer Norton TAGB Tae Kwon-Do travelled to Cardiff to compete in the Welsh Championships 2026 - and returned home with an impressive haul of medals and some fantastic performances.
The championships attracted competitors from clubs across Wales and beyond, giving students the opportunity to test themselves against a high standard of competition. As always, the day was about much more than medals, with students gaining valuable experience and building confidence.

One result that meant a great deal to the club was Poppy Robson’s 3rd place performance in Team Patterns. While it wasn’t her first competition, it was her first competition medal.
Poppy is a prime example of perseverance, determination and refusing to give up. She has continued to train hard, learn from every competition experience and keep working towards her goals. Seeing that hard work rewarded with a 3rd place finish in Team Patterns made the achievement even more special. Her teammates Matteo Dan and Milo Brooks helped secure the result, and everyone at the club was incredibly proud of them all.
The atmosphere at TAGB competitions is always something special and the day would not be the same without the fantastic support from families and friends. The Midsomer Norton club were fortunate to have many family members make the trip to Cardiff to cheer on the competitors throughout the day.
From the first patterns divisions in the morning to the final sparring matches, their encouragement from the sidelines helped create a memorable experience for everyone involved. Win, lose or draw, having that support behind the students means so much, and it is something they never take for granted. Quite simply, students couldn’t do it without them – we see you, we appreciate you, and thank you for being part of the journey.
Ms Edyta Fober said: “I am incredibly proud of everyone who competed. The medals were fantastic, but what pleased me most was seeing the students support one another, step outside their comfort zones and give their best. Every competition teaches valuable lessons and every student represented the club brilliantly.
“It was also wonderful to see so many families there supporting throughout the day. Their encouragement means more than they realise and helps make these events such enjoyable and memorable occasions.”
The Welsh Championships were another successful event for Midsomer Norton TAGB Tae Kwon-Do and the students are already looking forward to their next opportunity to compete.
