TEMPLE Cloud are through to this year’s national rounds of the Cawston Press Village Cup where they will play at home to Hampshire champions Sparsholt.
Having convincingly beaten North Perrott and Wembdon the challenges will definitely become harder in the last 32 with a Lord’s final just four wins away.
Temple are now playing home matches at their attractive Farmborough Recreation Ground where their fixture against Sparsholt will take place on Sunday, June 21 (1p.m.).
Temple haven’t played in the Village Cup competition since 2009, with their best achievement being a last sixteen defeat by Cornish side Grampound Road in front of over 300.
In this year’s Somerset final Temple batted first against Wembdon and were well placed at 115-2 before a middle order collapse saw them all out for 177 (Charlie Thompson 52 n.o.). In reply Temple’s pace attack was too hot to handle with George Fox returning 7-12, the visitors eventually being bowled out for 53.
